  • sun cream at the lottie

How many people got caught out yesterday
I was down the lottie most of the day and did't give it a thought, until it went a bit chillier and put the old cardy on,THATS when i felt the heat ,i am not burnt but are very red and the skin feels like a radiator,I had my new perscription sunglasses on for the first time,so the fact the SUN was actually blazing did not register, the silly thing is I DO KEEP SOME IN THE SHED,for if any of the grandchildren are down there,we have just got so used to the weather being doome and gloom, and sooo engrossed in getting on with the what ever goes on down the lottie,WILL remember another time, assuming we get any more sun.

Due to my hair being a little bit thinner than I'd like these days I usually wear a hat when it's sunny. Didn't give it any thought yesterday to be honest, well not until I got into the shower last night! It's a bit pink apparently and certainly feels sore.

Anyone know of a good sun block that can be used on dogs?

I take my Dalmatian down the allotments with me and he has lost a patch of fur on one of his flanks, vet thinks it's stress caused by the drugs he's on (although how he manages to roll spliffs etc I don't know).

Still vet said use some sun block that he's not going to lick off but OH forgot to ask if there was a recommended brand.

Thought the usual, "don't need it yet though", Oh Mother Nature you do surprise us don't you!
I am certain that the day my boat comes in, I'll be at the airport.

We use Uvistat on the horse

No allergy problems with it- it's what children were prescribed by Doctors many years ago if they were exceptionally fair.

                StaceySteve,
Your vet should be able to supply you with a suitable sun block.
                Do it! Life's too short

I fell asleep on the lawn. Arms are still a little red, now!

Red means burned, by the way, so don't get complacent if you just 'go red'. You don't have to blister to do damage.

                    I'm such a hypocrite!!

I ventured down to the plot on Saturday having applied factor 25 on my arms, face and neck. I also took my big gay cowboy hat (straw type). Hat made me sweat, hands swept sweat off my forehead, I subsequently have burnt backs of hands and forehead, and my neck is red - no idea how.

                      I'm just very delicate.

                        *raises hand...winces in pain*

I got well and truly caught out. I spent all of yesterday looking like a lobster and my arms still feel hot. I burn really easily, so the 5 hours I spent there without sunscreen was foolish...
