My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)
I've just had some brillinat news! the hotel next to the office here has started keeping horses and they said I could have s much manure as I liked! So can I spread this fresh stuff on my tattie beds for next year right now, or should I let it fester a bit and spread it next year?
(sorry to pinch your thread Salina, it was just too good to miss!)
I would say it probably depends on how much manure you have. If it's a little, then add to the compost bin. If it's a lot then make a separate stack. Any excrement (posh word for poo) from vegetarian animals can be used on compost heaps, together with the used bedding. Our guinea pig cleanings always go on the compost heap (OK I know they're only little and we're not talking about the sort of quantities you get with stable manure).
