I sowed some Calabrese earlier in the year which was devastated by every creeping and crawling or flying animal imaginable.
Undeterred, I got a small crop from what was supposed to be the central large( not in my case!) floret. Since then I've had numerous tasty cuttings of the side shoots, but thought that once late Summer arrived that would be the end of it!
Not a bit of it! The shoots still keep coming ...........and I still keep picking.
Not complaing at all though, and long may the Calabrese keep cropping.
To think, I all but consigned the plants to the compost heap after there initial setback. Just goes to show, what I could have pulled out as a waste of time, has turned out to be one of my most successful vegetables!
