  • In A Pickle

Hi, Hoping someone can help. I am hoping to do some pickling in the next week or so but I have had trouble getting hold of the white pickling vinegar apart from in a small bottle. Does anyone know of a good supplier. I knew someone in the past who got it in 5lt plastic bottles, but I am not in touch with them anymore so don't know where they got them from. I know you can get a largish glass bottle (Sarsons) but have had trouble getting hold of even these from my local shops.

    Many thanks

Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys all stock Sarsons white pickling vinegar, but the biggest size they do is about 1.5 litres. Sarson's Distilled Vinegar for Pickling (1.14L) in Tesco | mySupermarket

Any white vinegar will do but it needs to be 6%+ and you will need to add your own spices.

I use Asda or Tesco white vinegar (44p a pint) and add my own spices

I bought a 5 litre container last year from my local Chinese supermarket - can't remember how much it was, but it was the only place I found that sold it in large quantities.
