  • making the most of left over meats

having finished work early ,and wellie busy making curtains, ive just used up the rest of the turkey and made it into a curry, the honey roast ham joint remains into a ham pea pancake mix plus a pea and ham soup, now i need to think what to do with the mince pies, choccies etc , i shall use up some of the wine now by having a glass or two for lunch..

    hello there matey!!
Hope you both had a lovely Xmas!
Mince pies freeze very well- they're yummy in the summer with icecream!!
...or you could make some icecream and crumble one or two into the mix. YUM!

choccies???....simples....good film, roaring fire, bottle of red and big bowl of choccies ( you could of course take them to your GP surgery and leave them in reception!)

I started tidying up for New Year earlier this morning by scoffing about 8 choccies in a dish...then washed it up and put it away!!

Trifle for breakfast is a tradition for us on the 27th!! Also sending everyone home with doggy bags! I don't seem to have any problems using up the chocs!

I saved a nice looking Rachel Allen recipe this year for left over Christmas pudding muffins. . . but we haven't started the Christmas pud, may save it for next year!

I sliced the remains of the turkey and gammon and it is in freezer for when christmas dinner is only a memory. Mince pies all gone and christmas cake is nearly. All that remains really is cheeses and pate. Hmmm guess whats for tea!

We had Rissoles with the left over beef using a recipe from Delia.

There's still some Thornton toffee looking at me on the sideboard but I can't face eating any more of it so hopefully the grandkids will take that home.

I've made a risotto with the leftover gammon, and the chicken has been sliced and frozen. Still got 3 boxes of mince pies left: I shan't be buying them next year, nobody eats them.
