  • How can I store my onions?

I've got them all nicely dry and sitting in onions nets. The only place I can keep them dry and in the light is in the shed, but I can't guarantee it's free from mice.

Would they be OK if I suspend the bags from the ceiling of the shed? Unfortunately I don't have a garage or cellar. I do have a greenhouse and a conservatory but think this may be too hot.

    Would welcome any suggestions. Thanks.

Mine are hanging from a piece of string at the moment from the ceiling of the shed and they seem to be fine. However, you have to watch out because if it gets damp in your shed later in the year, they may go mouldy.

I suspend mine from the beams which run across my (rather large) shed.

If you want to hang them up, I'd 'plait' them into something like the classic 'onion string' as sold by cycling onion sellers in days gone by, but then I'm an awkward type at the best of times.....
First time for ages I've grown onions, so wasn't sure when to harvest them, also got some garlic. Is it time?????
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
