Sorry if this is in the wrong place!

I use a lot of paprika in cooking and wondered if anyone on here has produced their own?
Information on the net is a little scarce but i found this listing on Ebay

PAPRIKA-PEPPER/PAPRIKA SWEET 20 seeds GROW YOUR OWN on eBay (end time 08-Feb-10 02:04:40 GMT)

    Any help/advice appreciated

      interesting link T.S...thanks

This is my second "serious" year at growing so looking to try a few different things.

Is'nt Paprika made from peppers rather than chillies though?
There's a surprising lack of info about it.

Chillies are a 'type' of capsicum, so are peppers. Paprika does have the same habit of 'fading' in storage as chilli powder does (which is why until my chilli growing efforts work out I use tabasco rather than chilli powder).
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

No, and it's not made from one single pepper variety either. Have a look here: Paprika - Food Facts - Food Reference

I have sown Kostadinov chillies this year, seed bought from Real Seeds. The blurb said that it was for making paprika pepper, that's why I got it.
Are there other chillies used to make paprika, does anyone know? I also assumed that one dried the chillies and then powdered them, not having to chop them up first and then dehydrate them. Haven't got a dehydrator anyway!

I bought some peppers from Lidl this year and when I looked on the back, it was in other languages too and where mine said 'sweet pepper' in the other languages it said 'paprika'. So I assumed that paprika was just Spanish or something for what we call peppers. Not sure how good of an assumption that is!
