 Greenbean Chutney I had a fantastic recipe for Greenbean Chutney, unfortunatly no longer. I remember one of the ingredience was tumeric. Can anyone help me find another?... Gratefull thanks to anyone who can.      |

| Have just found this as well... Cumberland bean pickle 900g prepared weight trimmed and thinly sliced runner beans 450g finely sliced onions pinch salt 50g plain flour or cornflour 1 tablespoon mustard powder 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric 150g whita sugar 425ml white malt vinegar put beans and onions in a pan with salt pinch and just enough water to cover. Bring to boil and then simmer till tender about 20 mins in another pan mix together a tablespoon vinegar the flour and the spices to a smooth paste. Start to heat gently adding the rest of the vinegar very carefully bit by bit as you would for a roux ensuring there are no lumps. simmer 2-3 mins to cook flour. add sugar and stir well to make sure the sugar is dissolved. bring to boil....it should be thick and shiny. drain the beans and onions and add to the sauce. stir well and bring mix to boil for about 10 mins spoon into cooled sterile jars. recipe from best kept secrets of the women's institute, jams pickles and chutneys.

| Good Morning... Thanks for the recipe Shirley, will give it a go. You mentioned Vinegar but not the amount or type, i'd normally use cider in chutneys but every recipes different. Sorry to be a pain but if you still have recipe at hand please let me know. Thanks a lot. Leisa |
