Default beetroot

I was told to store beetroot in sand , the question is what type of sand do I use ?

Storing beetroot in sand or clamps is for winter storage, you shouldn't need to do it at this time of year. Also, we now tend to use the freezer more for storage. During summer you should be able to leave your beetroot in the ground until you need to use them - if not, maybe you've sown too many?

rustylady many thanks ,my thought was to store then before they got to big ie store at golf ball size
am i wrong.
