  • Pea-shuck wine, anyone ever made it?

Just wondering if anyone's ever made pea-shuck wine before? As soon as I saw it in the wine book I had to, for the good life haha

I've attached a photo of the recipe I'll follow, it says 2 1/2 lb pea shucks, anyone guess how many plants that would take?

I've just sowed 40 for overwintering, will make the recipe in spring.. but I'm wondering how many more I'll need to sow to cover the wine as well.. I guess another 40 or a million wouldn't harm!

The ex made it once and if I remember it was rather good.

I intend to have a go at the wines that use the "by products" just out of interest. Good luck

Yeah it's the by product of the pea, would be thrown away otherwise so it's nice to have a use for it!

Is this the same as pea pod wine? Never heard of shucks.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
