  • Newbie from Manchester

    Hi
I've avoided the garden for ten years, but was a keen flower grower and obsessive collector of terracotta pots in my 20s. Now I'm really keen but clueless on growing some food, as I am penniless art and design student but have a fair amount of free time. Was told this was a friendly bunch so I thought I'd join the gang and say hi

Or pull up a pallet and make yourself a chair. If any hobby can be done on a shoestring budget this is it, but it has a way of tempting you to splash out that you have to watch. It wont be long before they bring out special spandex suits for gardeners with knee and elbow protection and a belt to hold trowels and such. Special frames to carry your wheelbarrow to the allotment on the back of your car and so on.
            Oh and welcome.

What branch of art are you taking?
and, I don't think it's called "free time", they've rebranded it "independent study time"
