    Hiya.

We moved to the countryside a few months ago and I'm starting to get an idea of what I have in the garden and what I may be able to do with the other 3acres of ex-agricultural land that we own.

The plan is to maintain the pretty stuff as it is already, and to establish a vegetable supply from raised beds (under construction), root crops direct in the ground (once it's been ploughed), loads of fruit from hedging and a small orchard, and eventually a large polytunnel for the less hardy fruits and vegetables.

The only problem with all these plans is that I'm not a natural gardener and I have some injuries that make heavy work even harder going.

At least I have a very knowledgable source of information. :-)

Hi and welcome. Sounds like a great move you've made to a beautiful part of the country.

I'd never grown before I got my allotment just over 6yrs ago now and because of this forum, I feel like an old hand now.

I've had semi-unsuccessful spinal surgery so I understand your challenges, on the days that you can't do much in the garden, just looking and planning and getting excited about it all is a real tonic.

Best of luck and as already said, we love to see photos

Ok, I can take a hint. I'll get a few photos of the plot and the raised beds in progress.

And thanks for the warm welcome.

I don't know why some of the photos have been rotated - they aren't like that in my browser. Anybody know what the problem is?
