Hi all, thought i would introduce myself.
Im craig from rainham in kent.

i got my allotment about 2 months ago, its around 130ft x 18ft.
It had a shed already which is water tight, some rotten pallet compost bins, a couple of water butts and was covered in weeds as tall as me.

so far ive managed to clear it and have made 4 main beds and covered with black plastic.

i plan to go the no dig route and have started piling horse muck under the plastic.

I also couldnt resist putting in some bits for over winter so have sown some lettuce, sorrel, carrots, spring onions and japenese onions. All are starting to show there faces which is quite exciting.

so wish me luck. Ill try and get some pics up aswell
not sure how as im using a phone.

Hello and welcome to the vine Craig sounds like you're doing fine with your allotment and like you say its best to get something planted. no point in having bare ground.

here's a couple of vine links about uploading photos from your phone I hope these help.

Welcome Craig, and look forward to you becoming a regular contributor.

Kent is as good a place as anywhere in the UK for growing things, so good luck

Welcome, Craig. I'm looking forward to the photos too as your post reminds me of a wonderful programme I saw where a young lad totally transformed his allotment including a derelict shed. Hope you have fun on your allotment & here!
