  • New inexperienced Gardner

Hi all my name is Ryan i am 22 and live in the north west, just bought a house in which he garden hadn't been touched in 10 years. Over the course of the year I have striped the whole garden back to soil and introduce manure and compost into the garden. I have a few fruit plants and herbs but will be starting my patch this year ready for next.

Hello Ryan and a very warm welcome to the Vine Sounds exciting, what are you going to plant first? Onions? Garlic? Leeks? Overwintering brassicas? Enjoy!

Thanks for the welcome. Not quite sure I cook a lot of Thai and Chinese food so looking at garlic, lemongrass chillies etc. I love fruit as well strawberries raspberries etc. kaffir lime leaves would be handy as they are expensive in the supermarket

I bought a pack of Thai "vegetables" from Asd@ at the beginning of the year for about £1. It had Thai garlic, lemon grass, Birds Eye Chillies and Thai shallots. I've grown on all except the chillies. I have ginger growing from a root too. If you like these flavours, give it a try. Not much to lose if it fails
