    New boy on the forum.

    Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself to you all. I have lived in Aberdeenshire for the past thirty odd years. About 3 years ago in preparation for my retirement, I/we decided to start growing our own vegetables. We bought ourselves a polytunnel (30' x 14'), dug the ground over and got stuck in. My father was a keen gardener so I had a bit of an idea of what to do to get things started, however, I took ill, had to retire early from work and for 18 months or so was unable to do only menial tasks. Now I'm getting my strength back things are looking much better in the veggie patch.
    I've been lurking on the forum for some time and have found it very enlightening and friendly so am looking forward to taking a more active part in the discussions.

          Welcome and greetings from France. The best thing you did was to buy that polytunnel, but really it should be 60 ft long! ( ) We have a similar sized one and I am about to go begging one of those empty tunnel frames you see going unused across the French countryside and make someone an offer. I find polytunnel gardening more productive, more relaxing and a haven from bad weather, as well as extending the season enormously.

            Hello and welcome also from France. The last three years have been too hot for a tunnel down here. Wish I had one now.

                  thanks everyone for the warm welcome.
                  A polytunnel is certainly useful in this part of the world, a bigger one would have been nice, but this one and a small veggie patch are as much as I can manage at the moment.
