  • morning and hello

    Hi all,
Jackarmy here , names after my football team, real name is Andrew/Andy, either one .
Been growing toms/peppers/cukes etc for about 8 years now along with anything else i can get in a pot before the wife yells "enough" , presently waiting for first raised bed at local allotment so trying to learn as much as i can .

Talking about learning, finding it impossible to edit my profile as i keep getting a " not allowed to use this page" or something along those lines anyway.

so hi again, thanks for reading and see ya all soon

    ps, im in swansea.

Hello and welcome to the vine Andy

About editing your profile its a vine thing, some people seem to be able to alter theirs straight away while others can't, so my advice is to leave it be for a while then try again.
      Location....East Midlands.

Croeso Andy from Cardiff I'm saying nothing about football (mainly because I know nothing about football) but I'll talk for Wales on the subject of kale
Will this be your first raised bed on your allotment - or, your raised bed is your allotment?

Hello Andy, welcome to the font of all knowledge (not me though) and fun (ditto).
Are you going to have a go at other veg now you will be the proud caretaker of a raised bed?
Anything you really want to grow but have never tried before?
I am addicted to the weird and wonderful - thats why I don't recognise half of what I grow.
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

Hi again all and thanks for the great welcome

Diolch Veggie chicken , its my first allotment and my understanding is that a raised bed is given to newbies as their first plot, untill their ready to move on up the ladder i guess, ideal for me as i really dont know a lot about veg.
Reguarding Kale, please feel free to talk away, ive been hearing a lot about it of late, i always thought it was used for cattle feed .

                      Hi Lumpy

Yes i hope to try my hand at lots of different stuff, to be honest im not a massive veg lover ( yes i know) , i just love growing.
Ive hust planted my first effort at water melons, may be a bit late we will see and also trying ginger for the first time, amazing the ammount of pieces of ginger with the sprouts cut out at the supermarket.

Have to get used to that RANDOM question lol, thats three times ive typed this now

I had the same problems to start with but if you use the forums then you get use to it. The RANDOM question got me too, you just have to remember to put it in each time.
The forums are great, informative and fun. Also a great help if you have a problem or question.

                            what random question?

                            Hello and welcome,

So how big will your raised bed be?
You could check out the square gardening threads (around here somewhere...) then you'll be able grow loads of different bits and pieces while you figure what works for you and what you enjoy.
