Default hi

Hi folks,

I am quite new to this growing fruit and veg game.

My dad still grows his own and loves it I just wish I felt the same he does!

I have been growing strawberries for my second year now and they seem to be coming along nicely.

There is a bit at the back of my garden which I am going to turn into a new fruit and veg patch hopefully!

The drainage is not great there so I was thinking of raised beds and see how that goes. I think I will move my strawbs there for next year.

I am also thinking of growing other fruit such as raspberries, blackberries and maybe some veg as turnip, onions and carrots.

I'm sure this site will come in very handy as I'm sure I will need help along the way!!

Looking forward to growing my own.......

Cheers,
John

Hi and welcome to the vine. If you share your location it makes it easier to give advice on some topics. Good luck with your new venture.

I was born in Dundee and spent my early years in Renfrewshire. I remember lovely cold winters and long warm summers.

You can put your location into your profile and it will show up at the top right of your post - saving people asking again.

Raised beds are good if your drainage is a bit iffy. And fruit bushes are brilliant - hardly need any faffing. You seem to have this all sussed! Welcome to the grapevine.
