  • Hello!

Hello everyone! I'm a first time homeowner trying to make something of my front and back garden. I decided to join the forum when I finally realized that I'm in over my head.

The previous owners were last on the property in February and it seems that in the absence any humans the weeds, snails and grapevines decided to dominate the plot. So now I've declared war and I'm trying take back my garden. I've managed to clear a quarter of the weeds and collected most of the snails off of the sides of my house and (interestingly enough) peach tree and moved them safely to an empty plot across the road.

Now I'm looking for a way manage my grapevines. I have two problems that I need addressed quickly. But will do so under the Weeds, Pests and Diseases section of the forum.

    Hello again!

Hello Melissa and welcome to the Grapevine Forum - very appropriately named in your case
It would help if we knew where you lived - could you add your location to your profile please.
Here in South Wales I have grapevines that run amok but they would never put on as much growth as your's have. Are they fruiting?

          Welcome to the vine Melissa

Re the snails - they need to be moved at least 20metres away, or they'll come home again so I hope you carried them far enough!

Welcome ,probably best to wait till the grape vines are dormant before major pruning as they will "bleed" sap for ages at this time of year
