  • Hello from Spain

    Hi

Last year i moved to Spain, i had always had a small vegetable plot in England and always had loads of grow bags around. But now here with a lot of land. I have gone big.

May 2013 we decided to get 6 chickens (free range of course )

Had a small plot last year

This year have gone pretty much self sufficient. (veg wise)

Had some wins with bumper crops but of course fails. I love spending day and night in my garden or watching videos etc online. I am completely obsessed.

I have planted fruit trees all over and have 30 olive trees (been badly looked after so have had loads of TLC and will hopefully get olive oil and olives in the next couple of years)

I have been looking for a great forum for a long time, but have never been caught up in one like this, so i bet you will here a lot from me.

I am only 29 and have been growing for serval years, but new to so much. e.g only just grew my own courgettes this year. Had far too many . But if i can ever help i will try.

I have just had delivered a 6 meter long polytunnel today, so will be setting that up the next couple of days. Do need to find the plastic from somewhere though. Any help and advice on growing in a polytunnel will be greatly appreciated as it is a first for me.

Also if anyone has ever grown anything in Spain, i am in the Almeria region and there are not many growers around, apart from the old Spanish. If you know of anything i can grow at different times, again will be greatly appreciated as it is very hard to find info.

    So anyway HELLO to everyone.
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

we do have an area that covers both greenhouses and polytunnels you'll probably find lots of info there otherwise just start a thread and ask. and you'll soon get a reply.

Hello Lisa and welcome. Pull up a chair and make yourself at home.
If you could add Almeria, Spain, to your profile it will save us asking you whenever you post
There are a few Spanish gardeners on here and I'm sure they'll be along before long. I live in Sunshiny South Wales where its only slightly cooler than the Mediterranean
          Any questions, just ask

EDIT - you must have read my mind and added your location . Thanks
