  • Hello from South Yorkshire

We have been here just 30 years although our first house was in Mexborough in 1966. When we came here we took an Agricultural Tenancy of 15 acres hewn out of woodland.for 15 years we had outdoor pigs - 13 sows and a boar - Angora goats and bought a pair of weaned calves and reared them to finishing and then bought two more. We enjoyed that very much but regulations and the general problems of being in an urban area got us down in the end. We gave up the bulk of the land and just retained 'the yard' of 1.25 acres. There are 19 top fruit trees, various bush and cane fruits and vegetables. This covers about a third of the area and the rest is a battleground with brambles, bracken, nettles, sticky buds, etc. We didn't do anything much with the garden until we finished with the animals but we have done a lot since. You can see our activities here:

Hello Baldy. Yes I have been known to frequent other denizens, some more frequently than others. I also subscribe to quite a number of Youtube channels many of whom I find very informative indeed.

I seem to have bludnered I wrote a reply to Nicos but it seems to have got lost in the ether. Any road up what I tried to say is that we have friends North of Anger and on the Charante. France is just so peaceful and there are some jolly good gardeners.

My eyesight is pretty poor, well very poor, and I have trouble finding my way around new sites. I was going to make my flickr link as my profile but 'it' says that I do not have permisssion. Perhaps I must wait until I have made a number of posts.

Ah, I see, well I didn't I forgot to answer the, er, random question. I have two brain cells, one is lost and the other is out looking for it.

Grrr.. it was a different random question. It must be past my bedtime.
