  • Hello from the East Riding

Hi everyone, so glad to find this forum. I am keen to start growing my own fruit and veg and this looks like the right place for tips and advice. I was brought up on an allotment (not literally!) and spent many happy hours there with my uncle, picking blackcurrants, digging tatties and pulling up carrots!

I did try growing a few things in pots in my garden a couple of years ago, without much success, apart from the new potatoes which were fantastic. I don't have enough time or experience to manage my own allotment, so I want to start small (again) and build up from there. I am restricted to pots in the garden at the moment, and I might invest in a plastic greenhouse this year too.

I look forward to chatting with you all.

Hello Rachel & welcome to the jungle. There are quite a few grapes who grow in pots/containers so you should pick up some useful advice.
