  • Hello from Derby

Hi, I'm Nelly (Elenna) and I've been growing herbs and foraging for over thirty years. This all started with my parents who were foragers but they also visited garden centres to buy the odd flowering plant. I loved visiting these places and still do and love the earthy aroma you get from inside the greenhouses and poly-tunnels. I've just acquired a poly-tunnel and have placed a large snuggle chair inside with all my seed trays and plants surrounding me and I sit there in the evening after a good days work with a glass of wine and enjoy watching the plants grow, shear decadence. I have a herb patch in my front garden which I use for culinary, medicinal and cosmetic purposes besides a whole lot of other uses and my husband has an allotment mainly for veg and fruit and some more herbs. We get the GYO magazines and decided to try the website and I've not only posted a few comments but have learned much in return.

    Hi nelly,
I'm new to the site too, asked a few bits and pieces and the responses have been great, really kind and friendly bunch, I've not been made to feel an idiot by anyone even though I'm sure some of my questions are pretty dumb lol, sounds like you already have a great deal of experience so I'm sure ill be one of the ones picking your brains very soon

Hi, Nelly! Warm hello from me too. I used to like foraging for mushrooms and nuts, but that was long time ago. Now I prefer to grow my own (at least, I am sure what I am eating).
