Default Greetings from Devon

Hi everyone!

I joined a few weeks ago, forgot i'd joined and had my memory jogged by a friend from another forum when she told me she had joined! So here I am!!

My name is Esme, i live in Devon with my OH and our boxer dog.

I got into gardening - mainly veg growing - when we bought our house two years ago. I grew a lot in containers the first year as the previous owners of our house had made the back garden a "patio paradise". That all changed last summer when we painstakingly took the patio up and replaced it with a lawn and a very nice sized raised vegetable patch and had a very successful growing season last year and am hoping for an even better one this year!!

I still grow some stuff in containers and am acquiring some nice old belfast sinks for my herb garden next week. In addition we have a plastic style growhouse.

Anyway i've rambled on enough now so will look forward to getting to know everyone!

Hello and welcome to the Madhouse - pull up a chair, this place is addictive. For example, I sowed my first seeds of the year TODAY, because I wasted all my previous free time chatting to peeps on here!

Get yer priorities right!

Hi and welcome I should think the weather is a bit better in your area which should help you to get a head start on growing.

My OH won't be impressed then as he already moans that i spend too much time on forums!! It's in direct proportion to how much time he spends playing playstation though!

I do love Devon, i was actually born in Shrewsbury and moved to Devon when i was about 12. Devon is more like home now than Shropshire although i still love Shropshire and have family up there.

Nice to meet you too! My mum has had these sinks for years and she's moving and can't take them so i'm inheritting them and am very pleased about it! I'm getting three in total - two small, deep square ones and one long shallow one.

Will check out that chat thread!

- not so far from Lyme Regis- my favourite place!!
( we've collected hundreds of fossils from the locality over the years when our children were younger- wonderful memories!)

Thank you!

I'm not sure my advice will be worth much to anyone, i'm still very much a beginner! But veg growing links in so nicely with my other passion which is cooking.

Also thanks to everyone else for the very warm welcome to the site, it truly seems like a lovely, friendly place to be.
