Recommend salad leaves I've after developing a herb/salad window tray for the kitchen, have a few herb seedlings just kicking off, but i'm after a nice selection of leaves now to use as accompanyments really. I've going to get good old spinach going, already have a north indian red spinach.
Any other ideas plz?

I was given a packet of spicy leaves - they are coming up a treat... Johnsons Patio vgetables, Mixed Spicy Salad leaves. They might be nice with what you've got.

If you give it a while, some sort of cut and come again stuff usually gets given away free with either gardening or cooking magazine, in fact hasn't Gardeners' World Magazine got a load of seed on the front this month?
Failing that, I got two big packets from our local 99p place, Italian mixed and French Mesclun. The pack comes with vermiculite in to to help you keep the seed spaced out when sowing. I underestimated how much seed there was to vermiculite and now have a very full tray of seedlings. oops! still loads left in the packet though so a really good bargain

Hi Clay
I have loads of mixed salad leaves; if you want a random mix them PM me. I'll pop some in an envelope and you can sow a few each week and see what comes up.My blog [as tweeted by Alys Fowler] - http://linearlegume.blogspot.com/

phew: always a relief when that happens.
Mine are on the cusp of being able to be harvested; and you're not that far behind me.
