Default Oregano flavour lacking

For several years I have had some very bushy and nice looking oregano and golden marjoram on my plot but neither very fragrant or tasty.
Do I have the wrong variety because I note some contributions of Small Blue Planet's indicating other varieties.
Seem I have been sold some duds by garden centre perhaps?

Are you being too kind perhaps? Oragano is of the treat 'em mean keep 'em keen variety as are a great many of the mediteranian type herbs. Gritty soil, no food or water unless it looks as though it's going to pop it's clogs and you should find flavour and perfume enhanced in no time.
