  • Lemon Grass

Ok this is a daft question but I put a 2inch stalk of lemon grass in some water and it's shot away producing new leaf and roots.

My question is when do I know it's ok to plant it into a pot and what depth do I plant it at?

Plant into a smallish (3") pot now, the roots look good. You will need to increase the pot size gradually as the plant grows. I would bury the thick part, leaving the new leaves above the surface of the compost. Don't overwater.

Excellent rustylady, that was what I was sort of thinking, but I wasn't sure if I would have been planting it too deep, so it's great to get outside confirmation.
      Thanks Caroline

Could you post another photo in the future so that we can see the results?
