        Plant food to Herbs

How often do you give Plant Food to Herbs ,

I heard the more you give the less tasty the herb is ,

So I was thinking maybe once a month , Please correct me if I wrong.

Also should this only be done in the growing season i.e April to october

I'm not against it but there are other alternatives.

            Sprucing up the Perennials

With regard to Perennials such as Rosemary , baby leeks is there anything you can do to the soil to help it out year after year , and what time of year should you do it.

Incidentially my leeks and chives just keep gorwing although the soil is very poor its been like 5 years now

I don't apply any fertiliser to herbs such as Rosemary, Oregano or Thyme - they grow wild in poor ground so need no feeding for the best flavour.
The softer herbs like Sage, Chives and Parsley get just a small pinch of general fertiliser every spring when they get a tidy up.

Parsley isn't a true perennial, but I find the Italian large leaved types do generally last longer than a year or 2 before they flower, so yes.

Parsley is actually a biennial, which means it usually flowers in its second year and then dies. But there may possibly be varieties that have been selected to last longer.

It's also pretty hardy. No need for greenhouses or conservatories. You should be able to sow seeds directly in the garden now, but you then need some patience because it's quite slow to germinate.
