  • Dill 'WEED'

Why is the herb referred to as a weed, I know we eat other weeds, but they don't have weed in their name. I feel sorry for poor Dill, its much nicer than your average weed.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

I think this is Americanism creeping in. I've never called it dillweed, in my family it's always dill and dill seed, to distinguish between leaf and seed. I suppose where it grows wild, which I believe is in the southern Med, it would be classed as a weed there.

Sir Basil and Lady Rosemary never called Dill "weed"

      Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
      Endless wonder.

I've always called dill erm, well, dill........

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
