Default Herbs in Strawberry planter

Hi,

I plan to put my herbs into a large strawberry planter but before I fill it full of compost so that I can't move it - is it best to place herbs in full sun or full shade (or a mixture of both).

I will plant chives, rosemary, basil, parsley and thyme.

Thanks in advance,
Jobi1

Generally speaking herbs like the sun, but they are all very different plants. I would think the rosemary would outgrow a strawberry planter - it makes a tough little shrub, maybe up to 4 ft tall, in time.
