Yes, that's a Bay.

Crush a leaf, it should have a scent.
But always give the leaves a rinse before use, birdpoo spoils the taste.

I struggle to smell bay. I think I have a bit missing in my nose. I miss it if i don't put it in some food though.

Oh, yup, it is pretty large.
Neighbours have plenty of bay as well.
