    How do you get a mention in the mag? (Not that I'm angling for one...)

    I've noticed how quite a few of of our Forum members get a mention in each month's mag, and wondered just how they manage to do that. I've noticed various opinions, preferences and comments being quoted, and wondered whether certain members are approached by magazine writers, and asked if they wouldn't mind contributing to it. Could anyone who might have been mentioned or featured throw some light on this for us, please?...

      I've never been asked for my opinion - I give it anyway!
      There are regular requests to the forum asking for our tips or opinions on certain subjects. Everyone can comtribute and the GYO team choose from these.

        Keep checking this forum. Every now and then there is a post from the admin saying what do you think about this, when do you do this, what's the best etc etc. If your reply is good/interesting you may get it in the magazine. It usually states that the replays may be in the august magazine for example.

            I'm like VC - try stopping me giving my opinion Since I don't get the mag over here I never know who's famous and who's not. Good thing really as I'm no good at curtsey-ing.

            Some days it's hardly worth chewing through the restraints!

              Have you considered getting the online version? That would seem to be ideal in your case...

                If we get the new satellite internet I might - atm we only have 10 gigs between the 3 of us, for a month. Doesn't take long to use it up. Most times I can't even open the emailed school newsletter

                  omg.
                  Son uses loads as most of his games are downloads rather than discs these days.
                  And video chat. and gaming.

                  I think we used 70gb in 10 days once.
