Perfect for a beginner aren't they?! I'm sure I'll be sowing some this year, but definitely next if not!

Page 22 - perfect timing for me! I'll be growing some this year, sent some seeds in to the VSP yesterday as it happens

I'll be growing the Celeriac for the first time so I hope I like the taste.

My Celeriac seeds are going straight into the VSP. I still think they look like shrunken heads http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...-me_69606.html

I love celeriac...I just can't grow it it needs starting off early and I think it needs copious amounts of water to make it a reasonable size to peel. I tried twice - both times only slightly larger than tennis balls.

I assumed the VSP would have plenty of celeriac seeds and so I gave my packet to the allotment shop. I grew them last year but don't really see the point.

Hmm, a bit like very mild celery, more watery than a spud but I love them mashed with a little olive oil. Difficult to describe taste If you are going to try growing them, I'd start them of asap let us know how you get on.

Try one from the supermarket, see if you like it before committing time and space?

Sounds good, tho I wonder if any of VCs neighbours read this and were tempted to draw eyes on her celeriac

I'll not be able to look at that emoticon in the same way again!

                            Lovely in a coleslaw too.
My first attempt with them last year. They were tiny but still made use of them.
                            We had bigger radishes.

What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
                              Pumpkin pi.
