Can anyone recommend a pasta maker?

The most important thing is that it mustn't take longer to clean than to use.

    I got mine here.

    Pasta Machine:Kitchen Craft Chrome-Plated Pasta Machine From Choiceful.com >Kitchens & Cookware > Utensils

we use it all the time, dead easy to clean ( i am like you), clamps to the work top, and has lots of thickness settings.
doesn't do 'round' spaghetti, but lovely tagliatelli, lasagne sheets etc.
    can't beat fresh pasta.

I bought one of these and used it a couple of time before it broke so i bought an Imperia SP150 from Amazon and have never been happier

I have used a pasta machine before but having tried two models, I actually prefer to use a food processor to make the dough (about one minute) and a rolling pin - I find it quicker and easier.

Having said that, a Pastamatic is on my Christmas list, as having a little baby really does impact on my ravioli-making time!!!

Having been given a pasta maker (from Lakeland) for my birfday recently, I'm after tried and tested pasta dough recipes - the recipe book is somewhat vague in this respect, and so I'd apreciate any tips you may have for me...

          Thanks, grapes!

I have a fab pasta maker from Lakeland plastics, had it for about a year & other than a quick wipe over it has needed no maintenance or cleaning. The best thing is you can buy extra attachments, on this years xmas list is the ravioli attachment. It has a 'bucket' to hold the filling, you feed the pasta through & it fill, folds & cuts perfect ravioli.
As for pasta recipe i follow the simple rule of 1 egg for every 100g of flour. Use good eggs that have bright yellow yolks otherwise the pasta can look a bit anaemic, & always us ethe finest grade flour available. You can get McDougalls '00' grade flour from the supermarket fo about £1 a bag

I picked one up for 50p from my daughter's school fayre a few months ago.

I think I will wait until she is back at school before I attempt to use it, it could be a disaster.
