  • Makros doing lovely compost for cheap

I just got some compost from Makros, 3 for 2, 60 ltr bags £3 or so per bag (I forget the exact price). I thought it would be bulky and crap, and just wanted it for soil improver since with the offer it's cheaper than Verve, but actually it is great stuff. It is the finest, lightest, nicest compost I've ever bought. The brand is Manor Farm, and I definitely recommend it.

What is it made from out of interest?

      Is it peat free?

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I'll keep well away then, have avoided peat for environmental reasons for years.

Me too. Often hard to find good deals on peat free composts.

Indeed, well the decent ones anyway

Possibly a stupid question but what classifies a compost as decent?

Wickes currently has 4 for £15 on their own brand peat free compost and was planning on buying a load at the weekend. Any experience of whether it's good or not?
