| I've enjoyed the series too but not bought the book - you can download some of the recipes from his web site (I think, but not checked!). However, a fair number of the fish he's championing don't really seem available - I know that's the point he's making but it doesn't make it easy for us. Have e-mailed my fishmonger to see if he can source any, he delivers up your way also DDL so will let you know if he gets anywhere.

| the series was enjoyable to watch and bought back a lot of memories. especially when he was in Mevagissey, one of my old haunts as a teenager ![]() ![]() . the place hasn't changed much and it has inspired me to arrange a fishing trip with my dad the next time i go and visit them in Kernow. i will be watching this thread with interest as i would be interested in the book (but not at rrp ) usually the book people do cheaper copies but you may have to wait a bit.

| Been watching the series and enjoying it, but as i can't eat fish there's not much point in me buying the book! However, on the subject of pollak, i had a pub dinner yesterday in 'Ye Three Fishes' pub in Turvey, Bedfordshire and they were serving battered pollak with chips and veg for Sunday lunch! Mr Protea had it and said it was very nice, although not as many big flakes of fish as Cod/haddock so a bit more fiddly to eat, but the flavour was good. no idea where they got it from though.

| my partner is of eastern european origin and they always used to have carp for a christmas meal, she keeps telling me of when they were growing up and not being able to have a bath for a week or so before christmas as there was always a carp swimming around in it!! i am tempted to do as HFW says and see if i can rear some myself in my pond, may take a few years to get a decent sized one tho!
