I've been using EcoForce hurricane Clothes Pegs for a couple of years and they've not failed to hold the washing on the line, for price I've seen them from £1.50 to £4. for 24.

To be honest I've never found a problem, some of mine are the ones my mum gave me when I left home over 25 years ago and they weren't new then.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I have no-one to blame but myself when it comes to pegs not lasting, i leave them on the line and the sun destroys them, but i can get 24 for 75cents. That will do me fine.
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

I bought 40 in a plastic basket that hangs on the line. The pegs are fine but the basket disintegrated. Only 2 years old.

            A non-gardening question: Clothes Pegs...

Having always used good old-fashined wooden clothes pegs, like my Nan had, I was growing tired of the marks they left on my laundry. Especially after getting wet a few times, so I searched for a decent sturdy plastic type as a replacement.

The pegs I eventually chose were large and sturdy, or so I thought, but after two years of breakages and damaged washing, I'm after someing else. I need three or four of these ruddy things to hold even a tee-shirt on a windy day, where two of the old wooden ones have always done the job in the past. They also seem to ping off with annoying regularity, and end-up being trodden on by us and the dogs, or cut up with the mower.

I always take my pegs off the line and put them in a bag, so they don't spend all their life in the weather - they're just useless!

Sorry, I'm waffling ... does anyone have any recommendations, please?

might give you some ideas, I'm still happy with my cheap hurricane pegs.

... and if anyone is remotely interested, I have gone for the french designed metal ones. They are expensive, but look to be just what I need. I will report back with a verdict in due course.

FAAAAAAB! I pegged stuff out t'other day, knowing it was going to be windy, and it's still all there! Yes, well, it has piddled-it-down again, so it needs longer to dry. Even Mr. Fussy-pants said they were fab - praise indeed!
