  • Best Bakeware?

We need to buy some oven trays and other bakeware bits and bobs (mince pie tin?!), does anyone have any recommendations?

I have a loaf pan by masterclass, it is commercial weight and non stick. I was concerned by the six quid price tag but it really is the best quality bakeware I have used. It has a 20 year faulty workmanship guarantee and five year non stick. Welcome to kitchen Craft is the website on the packaging

ive got a couple of the silicon type and find them very good, expecially the loaf one you dont need to grease them as much and they dont seem to stick as much and really easy to clean

I concur - we've got a few of the silicon bits now, and they're great. Yorkshires rise like nothing else and they are really non-stick. In terms of tins to just "chuck" stuff into (roasting carrots/parsnips in honey - that kinda thing), we were given some Anthony Worral Thompson ones - and they're good for that.

I get all I need from car-boot sales and have had most of it for years! (also a lot that I never use, why did I feel I needed a savarin mould even though it was only 10p or cream horn moulds, free. I haven't made either!!)

I'm a fan of silicon too, there's no faf about lining with greaseproof paper or greasing the sides, you just chuck it in! I have a silicon sheet on my christmas list already, just to lay over the top of metal baking sheets as the metal ones inevitably seem to end up with stuff burnt on...

Depends how much you want to spend? My fave stuff is Mermaid

Lakeland, the home of creative kitchenware

Really sturdy without weighing a ton. Everything bakes evenly, nothing warps or dents and they're easy enough to clean. They're not cheap though.

I've also been very happy with the stuff I've bought at Wilko. Their very cheapest range is a bit iffy but the medium price stuff I've found very servicable.

Although it's very heavy & breakable I have several pieces of stoneware which I love.Nothing needs greasing, really easy to keep clean & very even cooking. It was also quite pricey but bought it bit by bit at various friends "parties".

I've yet to use it, but I bought some small silicon bakeware (suitable for petit fours etc) in TJ Hughes at a fraction of the cost in our local Co-Op dept store.

I think its this week that Lidl have some in their weekly specials iirc - although its not now showing online I think they went on offer on Monday.

I like Mermaid too, sturdy and holds up well to cleaning. I have got some cheaper bread and cake tins and use paper cases (from Lakeland) instead of greasing the tins and risking stuff sticking.
