  • Any good value, reliable Mechanical Hose Timer's out there?

I'm going to post here since i'm new and I couldn't really find a 'general gardening' section.

I had a problem the other day where the hose connector popped off the hosepipe and it was left running for at least half a day .

Since I'm not the only person who uses the hose I can't sufficiently rely on it being turned off at the tap after use so this leads me to wonder if there is a good value, reliable, mechanical timer out there that you would highly recommend - hopefully this way I can avoid this happening again

(I will also be upgrading my hose connectors to better quality ones as these were free ones from Thames Water (tripe))

Preferably around the £10 mark - maybe £15 at a push! Otherwise I feel I may as well buy the Darlac Electronic timer for about £25 - but that seems overkill for my application!

    Thanks,
    Matt

I cant recommend it but I saw this one for £12.50 on amazon. free delivery if you have ( or know someone) with prime. Reasonable reviews.

I have 3 hozelock timers and the cheapest was about £20 which is probably about the going rate for a basic timer. Aldi sometimes do them for around £10-£15 if I remember rightly but you need to get it when they have them in so I would have thought £12.50 is a pretty good price.

I used to have the H0z€l0ck one - they do several, but I bought the dearest one. Excellent, once you'd grasped setting it, and very reliable. However, I forgot to bring it in over the winter, and it died. Should I have need of a timer again, I'd buy the same.
