Default Freezer Alarm?

Oh dear, discovered the freezer in my garage has thawed, and the stuff in it is past the 'ice crystal' stage. What a waste......

We must have had a power cut during the night and for some reason once the power has gone off, our freezer doesn't switch back on once power returns

Our garage is about 10 yards from the house, and there's no way we can hear the alarm which is built into the freezer. I wondered if any grapes can recommend anything which might work better in alerting us at the house?

If your house and contents are insured i'm sure you can make a claim and restock your freezer. Sorry, can't recommend anything to alert you but am surprised when the power came back it did'nt sctivate your freezer.

Buy a freezer that works properly, it shouldn't defrost everything if the door isn't opened when the power has gone off! The cost of a new freezer will probably be just as much as any other gadget you may find to alert you to the one you have now?

Baby alarm from the garage to the house might do it.

I have the same requirement, freezer in garage 15m from bungalow, could do with a wireless warning device, I have the wireless alarm but need a way to trigger it when freezer warning light comes on, why don't they fit a small voltage free jack plug type socket that works through small relay connected to warning light, I am hunting a gaget to do the job. My new chest freezer is A+ class so can go without power for 46 hours and food should still be safe. So many little thermometer alarms out there but none for this task, come on inventors take on the task to adapt them. Will have to think about baby monitor idea.
