Anyone like to hazard a guess as to how much 40l of bark chippings weigh? Don't want any of the offspring to collapse beetle-on-it's-back stylee on the way home...

Step away from the supermarket.....

I take it you saw that the mediterranean bushes were citrus (lemon, orange, etc) and fig and olive...

Depends if they've gotten wet, think about half the weight of a big bag of compost? Can't you get some delivered?

Ah, that is quite heavy. I'm sure I could get some delivered, just looking for the cheapskate option

Reckon we could carry a positive grove of 'Mediteranean Bushes' though!

Notice the date you've put up is 1st March - that is supposedly when my Lidl will reopen after a refit!

Lets hope there's no delay to works in progress.

Does anyone know if Lidl have already had blueberry bushes in this year. I missed them last year, and haven't noticed them on sale so far in 2008.

There's a 'store search' box on the webpage (bottom rhs).

Is that across Europe or just the UK? Apparently the OH saw something about folding wheelbarrows there this week (Thursday specials) - he said it to me last night and then groaned as her realised what he had said!! I thought about the fruit trees, but there is local authority hosing overlooking our plot so OH reckons no point in putting those in (and we are due to be removed at some, as yet unspecified, date in the future for the LA to build a road on the plots).

But mini greenhouse, bark chippings, compost all sound good to me!!

Default Lidl - air miles

As with all Lidl products do please check how many airmiles this stuff has done.

We recently had a Lidl open near us and I've been in it a couple of times but I'm always astounded by where the products have travelled from.

We live by the sea and yet they had frozen Lobster all the way from Norway!!!

Carbon footprint folks

Sorry SMS6 its one of my pet bugbears at the minute - its being turned into a simplified cure-all, I certainly think people should be aware of the effects of say, buying lobster from Norway, but there's a bit more too it....

I was looking at price quotes for a French caravan holiday with (I think it was Siblu - might not have been tho') and on the checklist at the end of the booking process I could tick a box for linen rental, etc or a box for carbon footprint offset. They would charge me a £10 (or was it £15) and said they'd plant a tree in France for me. I felt much better knowing my responsibilities could be bought so cheapily!
