Default Really good book! Growing Unusual Veg

Growing Unusual Vegetables: Weird and Wonderful Vegetables and How to Grow Them by Simon Hickmott

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Growing-Unus...3413128&sr=8-1

I'd dithered over buying this for a while but saw a damaged copy (turned out to be a tiny fold on the back cover!) on Amazon for just 19p, so took the plunge. It's superb! Having read it now, I would happily have paid the cover price. It's not a pretty coffee table type book, the illustrations are all black and white pencil sketches but it's a mine of information on out of the ordinary stuff. Each plant gets at least a double page spread, starting with a brief classification - Latin name, Family, Type, Hardiness, Height, Rotation - then more detail on origin & history, uses, cultivation and varieties.

There's also an all-important list of suppliers at the back, so that you should be able to get your hands on any of the veg listed!

Sounds interesting Seahorse. I think I'll see if I can order a copy via local library.
