  • You miserable lot!

Look at how many posts/views the "minor rant thread" has had compared to the "what makes you happy thread".

That's because when we're angry we want everybody to know about it, it makes us feel better. When we're happy, we just don't care to share!

That's just one rant thread of 3.

It could be that people want to read the rants so that they can empathise. So - the opposite is true, that people care too much about their fellow Grapes.

I should have edited my post with a tongue-in-cheek smiley.

It just goes to prove that "Misery really does love company!" - But to try and redress the balance I'll pop over and put and entry on the WMYH Thread.

                Exactly.
There's plenty of things that make me happy although I probably take them for granted e.g. I'm happy to have a job (in current economic climate)but instead of saying that on WMYH thread I'll go to the rant one and fume that I have to get up at 5 am
Good things happen all the time, unfortunately the bad ones tend to appear sometimes,I'll smile at the good thing and carry on,when it comes to bad I'll dwell on it,wind myself up(making it even worse)and finally vent it off in a rant.Over and done

Perhaps - but what happens the rest of the time...

                  "sometimes".

There's a saying about how many muscles it takes to frown, and how fewer it takes to smile. Let's stop wasting energy.

I got loads making me happy, like coreopsis said, I just happily carry on, but the minute something goes wrong I too dwell on it and wind myself up....then yell at people

What makes me smile today is my daft daughter pulling a moonie at me while getting dressed ( so will pop over to happy thread and add to that I'm happy my baby has woken up in a good mood )

The point to the rant thread is, sometimes talking about what annoys you helps you cope with it. Happiness doesn't NEED that sort of help, it goes along quite cheerfully without!

Sharing happiness may just put a smile on someone's face who needs it.
