  • Yesterday...

    ....has left me as a wrung out dish rag.

    It (the funeral) was filled with all the emotions one could get into a few hours, grief, sadness, happiness, good memories, laughter, more sadness - oh and much beer and whisky was taken in his memory.

    The final head count appeared to be >140 - people who had said 'I can't make it' turned up, many had to stand in the Crem with people outside in the covered walkway also taking part ...it put a strain on the caterers but it worked out somehow.

    Thanks for all your kind words and support through this

            All the best to you Piskie! We are all here for you! I am glad that you are still posting and keeping in touch on here! It always helps me if I'm down about anything to know that there are people out there to lend an ear and send a message to show they care and are thinking of you!

            Yesterday I got a message from good friend on My space sending his condolence about my 2 aunts, not the same as you I know that but my friends message bought a smile to my face and he made it a better day for me!

            We are all here for you; sending you our love and {{{{{{BIG HUGS}}}}}}

              Big (((hugs))) to both you and Snowdrop, it sounds like you gave FiL a marvellous send off. When so many people congregate to say goodbye it is a very touching afffirmation of what you know, that he was a truly lovely person - he obviously touched many lives. Hope SD & MiL are coping ok, the next couple of weeks will be tough i think

                Well done for coping so well Piskie. You will have recalled so many happy memories yesterday, along with the sadness, but you will revisit them again and again, reinforcing the fact that he was obviously such a great and much loved bloke. Keep talking about him - it keeps him alive.

                  Hello Darling, good to have you back. I did think about you and Snowdrop yesterday and It sounds as if it went as well as it could.

                  How wonderful to see that so many people came to give him a good "send off" it must have been of some comfort to you and the family to know that he was so well loved and thought of.

                  So... how about you do something nice for yourself now

                  XX and hugs
