Well done Dobby, hope the recovery goes on well, but don't overdo getting back into the swing of things - take it steady. All the best

Good news, but at the risk of sounding insensitive - what happened?

I know how it feels though was off work for 3 months a couple of years ago after a back operation.

These people that stay off work "voluntarily" are mental in my opinion. You must be chuffed to get back into the swing of things though?

Recovery from any "op" can take a while, but it's worth the patience in the end.

That's great news Dobby. But to reiterate everything that's been said, take it easy. Only lift stuff you can manage comfortably with one hand (forget the 25kg bag of spuds) for a little while and only do what you can manage with out getting a lot of pain and absolutely exhausted.

Boring yes but worth the effort in the long run.

Why go back to work if you do not feel fit or confidant to do your job?
You could easily hurt yourself until you are fully recovered
You are NOT cheating the system if you are not fit to do your job!
If you injure your self you could be off work even longer.
Hope you make a full recovery.
Love Bubblewrap (Andy)

Hi Dobby - I'm glad you're obviously much better. Listen to your body now. If it complains, give it a rest! Best wishes,

Flum

You've been told you can go back to work and your happy!!!

I enjoy POETS day every Friday and am not happy about having to go back to work each Monday!

It's like being let out of jail to attend the lottie each weekend, but being banged up again each Monday!

Ahh well! There's nowt as queer as folks! Glad to hear you're on the mend Dobby , and take it easy on your return to work!

Hi Gang,

Firstly, thanks for all the messages of support for Mr D, and the concern that he's been shown! I know he will take it easy, he deffo doesnt want a relapse!

He trotted off like a happy puppy at 530am this morning, after dragging me out of bed to make his butties!

I have a feeling he's happy to be returning to work partially because he has run out of sick pay, (so will only be getting SSP, which wont allow us to cover all the regular bills and have enough to live on), but it also may be the fact that he's been getting bored with being at home all the time!

I know when I broke my leg 3 yers ago and was off for 3 months I was going stir crazy being stuck at home and immobile!

He's home, safe n sound after an easy day, tho he did almost put his foot in it, he doesnt normally work on the shop floor and a lady came up to him when he was picking one of the orders for delivery and asked him 'Where's your fresh garlic?', Lee almost replied, 'On the plot, why, where's yours?' Then he realised what she meant and as he'd already blurted out the 'On the' bit, it became, 'On the .... shelf over there!! lol!

Wasnt you was it LJ???

I've never seen proper "fresh" garlic in a supermarket. Although i suppose she meant fresh as opposed to some of the stuff found in jars, packets and the freezers. LOL
