    X-Factor. Have YOU been dragged in?

    I've actually been watching it this year and now watch the not-so-live shows on Sunday afternoons as a break from chores/gardening.

    Was not expecting to be crying in front of the telly at Daniel singing a song for his wife, who passed on last year after urging him to enter the competition. The song's lyrics refer to sensing a lost one watching over from above...etc. He gave a sob half way through, but recovered quickly to finish it. Even Louis Walsh started blubbing when commenting on the performance. Who else had to reach for the hankies?

    I doubt that he'll win, as I do agree that he's more Cabaret than popstar, but by eck, he's done his wife and baby girl proud, hasn't he?

    I loved that song not heard it before made me think about my sister so was crying as well. I dont like rachal or the spanish one although they are good I dont like the way they come across. As we have had young solo artists win for the past couple of years I think an older person or the remaining group should win JLS are really good. Dont vote though until the very end.

      just proves that you can have very little talent, a pub singer voice and if you have a great sob story you will go far (what song next week to save his arse? missing you by puff daddy). complete pile of carp, just wish the OH + DD's were not so addicted to it.

        Watched a bit of the early stuff to laugh at the poor delusional inadequates (yes, I know I shouldn't but they've put themselves up for it so.......) but never bother at this point, has got nothing to do with talent and is far too much sob story dependancy. May well be nice people but any sad things that have happened to them are totally irrelvant to a long standing future career. Tend to either go out on Saturday night or catch up on stuff we've recorded over the week.

        Liked the Peter Kay spoof the other week though, summed up these types of programmes very well.

        Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

        Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

          i love the early ones with the saddos who think they are wonderful ......why don't these people record themselves and listen lol ..... but when it gets to this stage, i watch it if i'm in front of the telly, but if i miss it, who cares.

            Got to agree that the sob stories kinda turn it more into a farce than a talent show for me also...that said I don't think the chappie this w/e has milked the sympathy vote quite as much as others in the past.
            I really like the Spanish woman(sorry I'm cr*p with names of people I know so to remember those from a reality show really is more than I can manage!),Hope she wins,partly because I think she has the most talent but also after the rather nasty comments from Louis & in particular the one from Girls aloud,about not wanting to mentor the "overs" group as they're a waste of time...I think it would be good for one of them to win!

              I am a captive audience to the X Factor, I don't usually watch television at all, but, yes, I have been dragged in. Why, though did they keep that sad and sulky youth on stage until they had reduced him to tears?

                    Not a big fan but I did pick up a copy of one of the 'tabloids' in the pub yesterday & apparently the girl called Laura who is from round here is dating one of the production guys who organises the audiences or something. I watched the live show the other week with a box of chocs & glass of wine as O.H. was away & she is about the best singer on there anyway.
                    As for the 'sob stories' did any of you watch Peter Kay's show with the very long title something like 'Britain's got the pop factor & probably the next Jesus Christ Superstar strictly on ice'? It was a brilliant mickey take!

                      I missed the Peter Kay version. We went to a country leg-ends tour thingy. Gutted! Laura is from Bolton, my home town. She looks like Cameron Diaz with dark hair and spots! I think Eoghan looks like Oor Wullie, too!

                      Although I find her little doll act annoying, I think the Blondie one will win as she has the most original voice. The one from Blackburn. Diana Vickers - that's the one. Can't believe she's got the same name as me and I forgot it. *rollseyes*

                        I stopped watching TV when reality TV started to take over...I watch the odd few programmes but to be honest if I never saw a TV again, I'd be quite happy. However, the few progs I do watch are The Restaurant, Dragon's Den and The Apprentice [for reasons of business not reality - honest]. But not the all singing all dancing shows; the OH's DD does and I am often shouting 'who the heck is killing this song' or words to that effect from the other room. I really only like any of it when people get voted off.
