  • Worst summer ever! The weather, the football and to top it all the Olympics

If the weather wasn't enough to depress me!

Rain, rain and yet more rain!

Every time I turn on the t.v. there is either a bunch of overpaid prima donnas prancing around a football pitch or a bunch of "pundits" with far too much make up on discussing aforementioned prima donnas.

Then to top it all off we're going, no doubt to be inundated with the Olympics for weeks on end. I can't think of anything more boring than weeks on end of sport.

The solution is simple, turn off the tv! If its raining read a book: if its dry, garden!!

Im not fussed with whats on tv but I do wish that the planes and helicopters would stop practising flying extra low over my house ready for the olympics!

I do normally like to watch the news once a day but have a feeling that will be hijacked by the sport

I like sport and would much rather that was on the TV than some of the moronic reality shows that seem to clog up our channels - at least the sportsmen and woman are doing something positive rather than just getting drunk and showing us all how thick they are whilst wanting to be famous for nothing at all.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

The last time I watched a football match was 17 years ago when I had 11 teenage lads in my house watching England play who knows (can't remember). My sons were interested in sport and I was quite pleased cause me and the OH aren't interested at all. My second son raises money for charity by doing Triathlons and my DIL probably gave up an Olympic place to give me grandchildren. I'm hardly watching TV at all these days as when I am not gardening I am reading up on stuff. My parents never had a garden until later in life and I was 24 before I had my own garden so lots of gaps in my knowledge. What is really getting my goat at the moment is the weather forecasts - I may as well lick a finger and raise it to the wind. Are we really due a month of bad weather?

I hate reality T.V. as well. Most television now seems to be either soaps with ridiculous plots or reality shows or sport. If I had to pay for a television license (free if someone in house is over 75) I'd dump the television.

And we're missing the rugby from the southern hemisphere.
Tour de France is only showing itv 37 or something.

                          Carp!

Just when you realise you're going to be force fed football for a couple of weeks you find out you're missing rugby somewhere.

We don't all have 350 channels so it can be rather tedious - all this sport. Give me a film with a talking animal any day hahaha.
