  • Wiring!

I'm just wiring a plug onto my new grow light and the cables have little gold coloured metal clamps around the copper wires.

Can I leave those on and pop them in the plug or do I need to cut them off and twist the copper wires instead?

The last one I did din't have these!

If they will go in the holes, leave them on Vikki otherwise just cut them off.

Yes deffo leave the crimps on unless you need to shorten the flex for any reason, the crimps are there to prevent the strands of wire from being cut by the screw in the plug terminal when it is being tightened

Honestly BB, some people will stick at nothing...! You're crimping the Vine's style of humour...
But then again, obviously we were all at a loose end, it's no shock really.

I was just thinking that ferrules were/are the little plastic thingies that stop laces from fraying

                        yes, pretty much.

However, for some weird reason I know that the end of a shoelace is called an 'Aglet'

I think I heard that on the eggheads!?!?!?!?

Well...as one bootlace said to the other, "I'm a frayed knot"...
