  • Winter Vomiting Virus

Well, guess what I've been doing all night?

I'll spare you the goriest details, but it's a bad one. I haven't had it this bad since I was a kid.

The good news is I've lost about 5 pounds

plus I have a cold, plus the heating and hotwater is still cut off, cos the gas man never bothered showing up yesterday.

Mr Sheds has gone to footy til 9pm - he ain't much of a nurse anyway.

I think that might be what I had on Monday night, I lost 4 pounds between mon evening and tues morning. And it's now a terrible cough [I think it goes hand in hand with the vomiting], which means it could take me weeks to get rid of.

To have that with no heating must be absolutely terrible. Where the chuff did that gas man get to?

I haven't had a vomiting bug since the day after the first time I drank alcohol. If I remember correctly, you should only eat liquids and make sure to stay hydrated.

                Get well soon.

Get well soon xxx Beg borrow or steal extra hot water bottles and blankets and snuggle up. When the gas man does eventually turn up, whatever you do, DON'T offer him a cuppa

I know it's not a very 'charitable' suggestion, Two Sheds, but when the Gas Man do cometh, make sure you DO give him a cuppa, with your nasty virus germs stirred in with the sugar?
You poor Angel. I feel rotten FOR you.
Woolly Hat, Woolly Sox, Homeopathic Arsenicum every four hours for two days, and a big cuddly teddy bear is what Nurse Wellie recommends.....

thanks everyone. I'm not very good at being ill - I get so bored after a couple of hours. Can't eat, can't drink, too tired to read. 700 channels of dross on the Skybox ...

Has nobody else had this virus yet this year? I usually manage to miss it.

YES, I got it yesterday finally, people round me have been going down like flies for the last few weeks and I really thought I was immune. WRONG!!! Yesterday morning I woke really early and couldn't work out why. Soon found out though - managed to make it to the bathroom and spent the next few hours there wondering which end to put on the toilet. Felt really cold afterwards, and spent the rest of the day snuggled up on the settee with blankets and a duvet. Went to bed proper around 6. 30 and slept till 7 this morning. Today not too bad, still feel tired but have managed to eat bean soup and drink lots of tea. Hope you feel better soon.
