  • Winning the lottery. Well, maybe just maybe...

This would be my equivalent. I really can't be live I'm this close

There has been a competition on Runners World to win one of six special places in next year's London Marathon. The winner not only gets a place on the start line, but months of expert coaching, hundreds of pounds worth of freebies and a stay in a posh London hotel the night before the race. They had 2,400 entries this year and although I still can't quite believe it, I'm on the shortlist of 20 people competing for six places. If you click on the link below, I'm the first one in the sub 4.30 category

Lucozade Sport Super Six 2010 Shortlist - Runner's World General

Voting closes on Tuesday. I'm really sorry to start a thread on something completely off topic, but I'm a desperate woman and whether or not I make it to the start line now depends on how many votes I get, hence this plea. You'd need to register with the site to vote, but if you do then I promise it won't send you any spam e-mails that you don't want.

If I do get in, then at least I can promise not to hassle anyone for sponsorship!

            Aw..... thanks everyone

Kernowyon, unfortunately no, but you can keep your fingers, toes and everything else crossed for me until Tuesday, that's just as good

Brengirl, if you click on this link, it should take you through registering - you can ignore most of the questions - then click on sub 4.30. There's a grinning idiot with my name on there, just click on the Vote for Vicky button.

Not Victoria, I hasten to add. She doesn't really look like that, she's a 35 stone darts player with a BO problem who's used someone else's photo. You do believe me, don't you?

Done! Good luck and rather you than me!

I'm banned from any 'intensive' sport having torn two ligaments in the same knee over the years. What my doctor calls 'conservative management'

I still walk whenever I can - with stick!

Puts the average migraine into context! Going downhill is the worst - my knee keeps bending the wrong way!

Both my knees bend back the wrong way - one of the joys of being hypermobile!
