  • Why do I do it

We have lived with our garden for 6 years now and it functions well, is moderately easy to maintain and in our eyes, looks good.

So why am I digging out a 10 x 6 x 3 foot high raised bed to make a pond, then filling in the existing pond to make way for a lawn, pulling down brick pillars that supported a loggia smothered in roses, lifting paving to move and extend a border, moving a rose arch and resiting a love seat.

As I sit here now as my bath runs (having just finished digging out the raised bed), with an ice cold glass of Chablis, I am thinking..............

Why not just leave well alone???

To make room for a chicken run?

(We spent the day putting a clear corrugated roof on ours ready for the English Winter and all its delights!)

Like to add my vote to all of the above

That is what happens when you get bored, you need a new project to occupy yourself
Never test the depth of the water with both feet

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

Yes, why are you?! Do we smell or summick? I'm sure you could have thought up a less labour-intensive way of avoiding us

Some people just can't leave things alone!!

I'd thought of doing that over our hen run this year, gets uber mushy underfoot
